At his season-ending press conference today, Todd Bowles indicated Muhammad Wilkerson will have surgery on his broken leg.
Bowles said Mo will have surgery within the next week. There's no timetable on his recovery yet #nyj #Jets

Wilkerson's right leg fracture is of the fibula, not tibia.

I would tend to guess that this will not have a major impact on his free agency. Broken bones heal.
It was a sad way to end a terrific season for Wilkerson. He finished 2015 with a career high 12 sacks, tying for sixth most in the league. The disruption he caused and the consistency with which he won his assignments also happened at a very high rate. This is not to mention the versatility he brings with his ability to line up almost anywhere.
Hopefully the Jets can get him locked up quickly.
