SB Nation is out with a new mock draft this morning. They have Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott going to the Jets with the 20th pick.
20. New York Jets: Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State
Elliott's been locked into this pick because before free agency starts it's hard to know for sure what the Jets will do at running back. Elliott could be the focal point of the offense, and the rare first-round running back that makes sense.
Other options: Leonard Floyd (OLB, Georgia), Noah Spence (DE/OLB, Eastern Kentucky)
For the record, the big three quarterbacks, Jared Goff, Carson Wentz, and Paxton Lynch are all off the board by the 20th pick.
I do not think of Elliott as a potential first round option simply because the Jets need bodies at the running back position. I think of the difference a dynamic back can make in this offense partnering with the receiver play the team has.
What do you think? Would you like this pick?
