New York Jets: Players With Jets Ties in Super Bowl 50

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

There are only a handful of Panthers and Broncos with Jets ties heading into Super Bowl 50.

Jerricho Cotchery (Panthers): A fourth round pick out of NC State in 2004, Cotchery lasted with the Jets until he requested and was his release in 2011 during training camp. Cotchery ranks eighth on the team's all-time reception list and ninth in receiving touchdowns. His 1,000 yard season in 2007 was the last the team had until Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker both hit the mark this season.

Josh Bush (Broncos): Bush was a sixth round pick of the Jets who played 35 games and lasted on the roster until 2014. The Broncos picked him up, where he became a reserve safety. He saw some action in the AFC Championship Game after the Denver defensive backfield sustained some injuries.

These teams also have two players who are not on the active roster with Jets ties.

Ras-I Dowling (Panthers practice squad): Remember the theory that the Jets didn't sign a good cornerback in 2014 because they had this former second round Patriots bust waiting in the wings to break out? In the end, Dowling couldn't even make the roster on the team with the worst group of cornerbacks in the league.

Stephen Hill (Panthers injured reserve): The next time you think there is justice in the world, consider what happened to Larry Fitzgerald yesterday. Then think about how two weeks from now "Super Bowl Champion Stephen Hill" could be a thing.
