Pro Football Focus today declared they believe Damon Harrison was the best run defender in the NFL in 2015.
Damon Harrison of the @nyjets wins PFF's 2015 Ted Washington Award, which is given to the best run defender in the NFL

Harrison had a career high 72 tackles this season. It is not a PFF state, but I had Harrison ending the season with 22 "run sacks" according to Pro Football Reference's Play Index. A run sack is a tackle on a run play that results in either no gain or a loss. Those 22 put him second behind JJ Watt in the NFL.
I am not sure whether the Jets can afford Harrison. The investments they have made in the defensive line might not make a big contract for him wise. He is likely to get a big contract from a team that is not good against the run and is in need of a nose tackle. He can help that team too.
