Standing at 6'1" and 217 pounds, Martin was an undrafted free agent the Seahawks signed out of LSU in May. Martin profiles as an in the box run stopping type of safety. For what it is worth, SB Nation's Seahawks blog Field Gulls had good things to say about his preseason performance.
The team announced Rontez Miles has been waived to clear room for Martin.

It is a tough break for Miles, who had a strong preseason and seemed to earn his spot on the roster. That is the difficult life of an NFL player. Sometimes things work this way.
