Todd Bowles is dealing with a number of key injuries. Today he talked about some of them.
On injury update for Darrelle Revis…
He said his hamstring was fine. He said it was on the same leg. He might have over-compensated for it is what he told me.
On if Revis’ injury is cause for worry…
I don’t know. I’m sure he’ll be a little sore this week. Hopefully it’ll get better quicker.
The bye is one week away, and a hamstring injuries have a way of lingering or getting worse if players are not careful. This seems like a situation where the Jets should use caution. Hopefully it heals quickly for Revis.
On an injury update for Willie Colon…
Willie has a sprained MCL. He’ll be out at least a week. We’ll re-evaluate him after that.
On if Colon will return after the bye week…
I truly hope so.
On if Brian Winters will start in place of Colon…
Yes.
Losing Colon is tough for the Jets. Not that Colon is a great starter, but Winters could not even beat him out for the starting job. What does that say. This was unfortunately fairly likely. To say Colon is injury-prone is an understatement. Last season was the first since 2009 that Colon's season did not end with a serious injury.
There were still more injuries.
On if Chris Ivory will return against Miami…
Yeah I think he will. A couple of more days of rest, he should be.
On an update for Eric Decker…
Not yet. I’ll wait until Wednesday to see how he’s coming along.
On Jeff Cumberland…
Cumberland didn’t finish the game. He had a head injury. He was the one guy that didn’t finish.
On if Cumberland is in the concussion protocol…
Yes.
On Quinton Coples…
He got a sprained elbow. Just put a brace on it, but he will be okay.
The Jets really missed Ivory and Decker yesterday. Hopefully they get better soon.
