Who To Watch At Potential Positions Of Need: Tight End

In this series, I will be pointing out potential positions of need going into the 2016 NFL Draft. Today we will be taking a look at the Tight End position.

Marc Lebryk-USA TODAY Sports

Who is our TE right now. Is it Jeff Cumberland (0 completions), Quincy Enunwa (1 reception) or Kellen Davis (0 receptions)? Let's say Jace Amaro was healthy, did it seem like he was gaining much favor from this coaching staff? I think it is safe to say that the TE position is in flux at the moment. Our offense is passable so far, but it could really use a reliable TE option to really give it an edge, outside of Marshall and Decker. I fully expect Maccagnan to address this position with either a vet FA, or a talented rookie to compete with Amaro. Here are some of our options for 2016 college TE prospects.

Big Names:

O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama (today vs. Louisiana-Monroe; 4:00; SEC Network)

One Strength - A tremendous athlete

One Weakness - Needs to work on rout running

Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas (today vs. Texas A&M; 7:00; ESPN)

One Strength - Well rounded

One Weakness - Needs to get better after the catch

Next Tier:

Jake Butt, TE, Michigan (today vs. BYU; noon; ABC)

Other Guys:

Nick Vannett, TE, Ohio State (today vs. Western Michigan; 3:30; ABC/ESPN2)

One Strength - A very good blocker

One Weakness - Needs to run sharper routs

Ben McCord, TE Central Michigan (today vs. Michigan State; noon; Big Ten Network)
