The NFL's opening weekend roll along. In the late afternoon timeslot in Week 1 are five games.
The spotlight game is in Denver. The Baltimore Ravens come in to take on the Denver Broncos. It is a battle of two of the final eight teams from a year ago and a rematch of a classic Playoff game from three seasons ago.
In Tampa, there is a battle of the two worst teams from a season ago. It sounds like it has little intrigue when you put it that way, but it actually is a very interesting game. The top two draft picks, Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota, both quarterbacks, make their respective NFL debuts. The two last faced off nine months ago in the Rose Bowl as Mariota's Oregon Ducks crushed Winston's Florida State Seminoles.
Other late games include the Lions against the Chargers, the Bengals against the Raiders, and the Saints against the Cardinals in Arizona's first game without Todd Bowles.
