The Jets gave Eric Decker and Antonio Cromartie the day off today in training camp.
Rest day for Decker and Cromartie. Part of plan for vets throughout camp. #NYJ— Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) August 10, 2015
It is not big news to schedule a day of extra rest for veteran players. What interests me is to see which players got more of a look as a result.
With Decker not taking part in team drills, #Jets going with Marshall, then Enunwa, Evans and Kerley rotating in— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) August 10, 2015
Buster Skrine on outside, Marcus Williams in nickel with 1s. #Jets— dom cosentino (@domcosentino) August 10, 2015
I cannot tell you whether this means Evans and Enunwa have an inside track over the other receivers in camp or whether they have a chance to jump Kerley for playing time. Injuries to Devin Smith and Owusu do improve their chances.
Williams does figure to be in the mix to be the dime back along with Dexter McDougle. He made the most of his opportunity today by registering the first interception of Geno Smith in training camp.
There it is: Geno throws his first pick of camp. A pick-six by Marcus Williams.— Seth Walder (@SethWalderNYDN) August 10, 2015
