Jets defensive end and former defensive rookie of the year Sheldon Richardson has been handed a 4 game suspension for violating the leagues substance abuse policy.

Sheldon Richardson was obviously very disappointed in himself, but you can't blame anyone but yourself for making a stupid mistake like this:
"I apologize for letting down my family, teammates, this organization and the fans," Richardson said in a statement. "However, words aren't enough. This is something that can only be addressed by how I handle myself from this point on."
"I don't want this to take away from what the team is trying to accomplish. While I won't be there at the start of the regular season, I will do whatever I can to support my teammates until I'm able to return to the field,"
Bowles was disappointed but naturally supported his best defensive lineman
Bowles called the ban "disappointing," but added, "we're going to support Sheldon and welcome him back."
Luckily we invested our first round selection in Leonard Williams, a dominant player who plays the same position. Sheldon was expected to do great things this year, and he still can do that but he'll be playing catch-up to the rest of his teammates.
Needless to say this is extremely disappointed. We've now lost a lot of talent and a lot of depth on that line for a quarter of a season. Richardson likes to talk a lot, but the critical finger of judgement will be firmly placed on him after letting his teammates down as well as the fans and organization.
