The Jets have their entire Draft class under contract. First round pick Leonard Williams and second round pick Devin Smith have agreed to deals.
According to Over the Cap, the contracts break down roughly as follows.
Williams
Total value: $18,630,868
Signing bonus: $11,809,720
1st year cap hit: $3,387,430
2nd year cap hit: $4,234,888
3rd year cap hit: $5,081,146
4th year cap hit: $5,928,004
Smith
Total value: $5,779,370
Signing bonus: $2,463,176
1st year cap hit: $1,050,794
2nd year cap hit: $1,313,493
3rd year cap hit: $1,576,192
4th year cap hit: $1,838,891
Williams' deal also comes with a fifth year team option.
These deals were not expected to be difficult to get done. The rookie wage scale makes holdouts, particularly among top ten picks like Williams, much less likely than they were a decade ago. Still, it's nice all the same to not have to worry about this. All of the rookies will be in camp on time.
