Jets Trade 224th Pick for RB Zac Stacy

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets have traded their final pick in the 2015 NFL Draft for Zac Stacy, the running back from the St. Louis Rams. Stacy was a fan-favorite here at GangGreenNation when he was eligible for the draft. He was the starting back for the Rams in 2013, accumulating nearly 1,000 yards, but was mostly replaced in 2014 by Tre Mason. After the Rams drafted Todd Gurley at #10 overall, Stacy became expendable. He soon asked for a trade, and the Jets were instantly interested.

This is an interesting trade because of the addition of Stevan Ridley and the re-signing of Bilal Powell. Someone has to be the odd man out. Stacy is by far a better running back, and more proven, than anyone remaining in the draft. He's proven himself to be a capable starter, and if you can do that with Brian Schottenheimer, you can do that with anyone. If I had to guess, Chris Ivory will remain the starter and Ridley/Stacy will battle it out for the backup, while Powell stays as the number three back.

What do you think? Do you approve of the trade?
