In the absence of other options, Salas has a legitimate chance to contribute for the Jets last season. He only caught 8 passes in 10 games. While Salas was difficult to bring down once the ball was in his hands, he lacked the route running ability to get open. He did not often have the ball in his hands as a result.
Conner going to Buffalo reunites him with Rex Ryan. The Jets seemed to feel J.C. Copeland was a better option. Given how little of an impact pure blocking fullbacks have in today's NFL, it does not seem like it will make a major difference.
