The Jets traded back twelve spots in the third round tonight.
We've traded our 3rd (70th) for HOU's 3rd (82), 5th (152), 7th (229) and WR DeVier Posey.

Houston used the pick to draft Arizona State wide receiver Jaelen Strong, who surprisingly fell into the third round. The Jets were not interested him as they passed on him in the second round to take another receiver, Devin Smith, and moved down in the third with a chance to take Strong. They also got a receiver in return.
Mike Maccagnan dealt with his former team, the Texans, and got Posey. One would assume the general manager feels like the receiver he acquired is a sleeper despite only recording 22 catches in three years.
It makes sense the Jets would move down at some point in the Draft. They lost their original fifth round pick in the Brandon Marshall trade and their sixth round pick as a result of the deal for Percy Harvin (#Idziked). This helps replenish the team's allotment of late round lottery tickets.
