New York Jets Sign RB Stevan Ridley

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

According to multiple reports, the New York Jets have signed RB Stevan Ridley. They had him in for a visit last week, following his visit with the Miami Dolphins. Ridley is a good back, having played for the New England Patriots since he was drafted. He is, like Chris Ivory, more of a power back than a receiving back, so the one-two punch of those two players is certainly powerful.

It does make me wonder if the team does not view Ivory as a match for Chan Gailey's offensive system, and if they will attempt to trade him. It would not surprise me at all to see them trade Ivory for a mid-round pick, take a receiving back in the draft, and go into the season with Ridley, Bilal Powell, and a rookie. I hope that's not the case, but at this point, nobody really knows what their intentions are.

What are your thoughts?
