For the last few years, the NFL has used former players to announce second round picks for their respective teams. Last week, the NFL gave a list of the 32 players given that honor this year. For the Jets, Emerzon Boozer will be doing the honors Friday night.
Boozer player for the Jets from 1966 through 1975. The sixth round pick went to a pair of Pro Bowls for the Jets and notably was a member of the 1968 championship team. As you probably know, this was the only Super Bowl winning Jets team ever.
Chad Pennington was the Jets' second round announcer last season, which was Jace Amaro. Wayne Chrebet did it in 2013, when Geno Smith was picked. Wesley Walker had the distinction of announcing the Jets had drafted Stephen Hill in 2012. The Jets didn't have a second round pick in the 2011 Draft so Marty Lyons announced third round pick Kenrick Ellis.
