I find it difficult producing a 7 round mock draft just for the Jets, and I follow the team exclusively. So I can't help but be very impressed by Chris Trapasso's efforts to produce a full 7 round mock draft for every single team. You can read he full mock HERE but below you will find the Jets selections:
First Round: New York Jets: Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama -- Despite trading for Brandon Marshall and adding Eric Decker in free agency a year ago, the Jets want to give Geno Smith more outside weapons. Cooper defines "polished" and will be a Chan Gailey favorite.
Second Round: New York Jets: Danielle Hunter, DE, LSU -- Hunter is the latest freak defensive prospect to come out of LSU. With a year of grooming he can be a complete backfield disruptor for Gang Green.
Third Round: New York Jets: Derron Smith, S, Fresno State
Fourth Round: New York Jets: T.J. Yeldon, RB, Alabama
Seventh Round: New York Jets: Ray Drew, DL, Georgia
Seventh Round: New York Jets: from Chicago - Josh Harper, WR, Fresno State
I want to hear your opinion on this mock, personally I really like it, although not addressing the offensive line is a mistake for me. I can't be mad at the Cooper selection because I think he's an elite receiver in waiting. Hunter has a ton of talent as a pass rusher. I'm not crazy about Smith but I happen to like Yeldon. Josh Harper, I can get on board and it's only the Ray Drew selection that I'd prefer to swap out for an offensive lineman, but it's a 7th round selection.
