Trying to decide who my first call would be to when free agency hits. Probably have 2 calls going at the same time to McCourty & Spiller.

I tweeted that this morning as a passing thought, and realized it would probably make a great discussion topic for a Friday. You can register your interests in many players and just because you don't contact them immediately, it doesn't mean you won't get them. However you have to prioritise the free agents in order of players you want. The quicker you get them in and offer them a contract, the better.
You can have the general manager, the head coach, and others working the phones constantly, but at some point you're going to have to choose the guy you want to focus your attention on.
The question is very simple, if you had to make a decision on who to focus on as your main free agent acquisition, who would it be? Who's agent would you be calling as soon as the new league year ticked over to 2015.
Above I had two, but that's not the name of the game. So If I were the Jets GM, the first person I'd get on the phone is Devin McCourty.
There is something about this guy that just has me intrigued, and excited about the prospect of him wearing green. I consider him to be one of the best coverage safeties in the league and we haven't had that in a long time. If we could bring in one of the finest free safeties, that would allow us to concentrate our development efforts with Pryor at the SS position. It improves us in two positions instantly. I've read several articles about his work ethic and his leadership credentials, he was widely considered the leader of that 2014 Super Bowl winning team.
There is a reason why he was rated as the best safety in the league last year, not just the best free safety, but the best safety full stop. He was the best coverage safety and he was a very reliable last line of defense. In total he missed 5 tackles in over 1,000 snaps and was penalised just once all season. So he doesn't get beat very often, doesn't miss tackles, doesn't give up many touchdowns and doesn't give away yards. I really want Devin McCourty and he would be my priority.
Who would be your priority?
