According to Aaron Wilson, the Jets will host the former Giants and Ravens defensive end on Friday and Saturday
Chris Canty to visit New York Jets on Friday and Saturday
— Aaron Wilson (@RavensInsider) March 4, 2015
Chris Canty will be entering his 11th year in the league in 2015. Just over a week ago, he was cut by the Baltimore Ravens having played for them for just two seasons. He played in only 31.6% of defensive snaps last year and missed 5 games entirely.
The Ravens moved on from Canty to create $2.66 in salary cap relief. Canty did consider retirement before deciding to continue his career this year. He recorded 33 tackles with 0.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble last year.
He never quite made the impact that was expected when he signed with Baltimore after becoming a free agent. He did win a Superbowl with the New York Giants and had some of his best seasons in blue. In 2011 he racked up 47 tackles and 4 sacks. He would be an interesting option for depth if we lost any of our defensive line free agents.
