According to ESPN St Louis Reporter Nick Wagoner, the Jets will host former St Louis Rams defensive tackle Kendall Langford:
Told former Rams DL Kendall Langford's visit to Detroit went well but he will continue visit tour. Jets next followed by New Orleans.
— Nick Wagoner (@nwagoner) March 4, 2015
Langford was drafted by the Dolphins in 2008 and played under Todd Bowles when he was in Miami. There is a familiarity there, and although he is widely considered a defensive tackle, he can be played at defensive end as well.
Just under a week ago, St Louis made the decision to release Langford from his contract, the move was made to save the Rams $6 million in cap space for 2015. Langford is durable, having never missed a game his entire career and he is a strong disruptive force in the middle.
He lost his starting job to impressive rookie Aaron Donald, but he won't find it too difficult to find a job this off-season. He would add depth, veteran leadership, and talent to a defensive line that is already a strong unit.
We can't forget that Damon Harrison is a restricted free agent this year and while the Jets will likely place a first round tender on him, it's important to look at our depth on the defensive line.
Would you want Kendall Langford?
