Jets Pick in SBN Blogger Mock Draft

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

SB Nation is running its annual blogger mock draft over at Mocking the Draft. The Jets were up today with the sixth pick. David and I decided to select Kevin White, wide receiver out of West Virginia.

The five players off the board already were Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, Vic Beasley, Leonard Williams, and La'el Collins.

We did consider the depth at wide receiver in this class against the depth at edge rusher. An edge rusher could take the Jets' defense to the next level. There is a big dropoff after the first few edge rusher. The drop in wide receiver quality is much less pronounced.

With that said, you can't go wrong taking the best player. You might disagree, but the decision was White.

The Jets are a good fit. With Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker already on board, White can come along at his own pace. The Jets don't need monster production right out of the gate. If they get it, though, this receiving corps could start looking scary. Adding White also gives the Jets all kinds of flexibility with formations and packages. In particular, the Jets can use Marshall out of the slot more to create mismatches.

David said it best. The only guarantee with this pick is that plenty of people will disagree. Sound off below.
