Revis is about to hit 30 years of age so frontloading the deal makes sense.
It is obviously an incredible amount of money, but the Jets are paying top dollar for the best cornerback in the league. Richard Sherman's deal in Seattle averages $14 million per season. The Jets are paying more than that on the front end of the deal, but they also had an enormous need and money to spend. In a world where Byron Maxwell is getting a $10 million per season deal after starting for one year, this does not look like terrible value for a player who has been the best corner in football for years.

UPDATE:
Sounds like Jets' structured deal with all salary, no bonus, no proration, no leftover Cap charges if a separation. Kudos for that.
