Report: New York Jets Will Pursue C.J. Spiller "Hard"

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

According to Kristian Dyer, the New York Jets are very interested in RB C.J. Spiller and will pursue him vigorously. I encourage you to read the whole article, but here's the pertinent part:

A league source told Metro New York on Wednesday that the Jets "will have interest in Spiller when free agency opens next month. Very serious interest.

"Spiller will be one of the players the Jets pursue. Not just kick the tires on, but pursue," the league source said. "Chan Gailey would like him here in New York. He’s the pass catching option out of the backfield that the Jets need for this offense and he’s a playmaker.

"The offense isn’t bad, it needs a spark. Spiller? He can do that for the Jets and don’t think that the Jets don’t know it. They will pursue him."

Obviously, this league source is correct in that the team desperately needs a spark on offense. Spiller would compliment Chris Ivory as the pass-catching back. If the team has a dynamic back that can catch out of the backfield and be dynamic with the ball decreases the need to pay Percy Harvin the $10m he's owed. What do you think? Should the team pursue Spiller?
