How Would You Rank the New York Jets Needs?

Brad Barr-USA TODAY Sports

When it comes to the NFL Draft, there's always the longstanding argument of drafting for need versus drafting the best player available. However, no matter what method you choose, or even a combination of the two, you still need to prioritize the position groups so you know what your strengths and weaknesses are. Between the draft and free agency, the goal is to shore up your weaknesses enough so, at the minimum, they aren't liabilities

Obviously, the most important position on a team is the quarterback. The New York Jets are still searching, and even if you believe in Geno Smith, the team will need to bring in at least one other quarterback to compete. After that, I would rank the team's needs as following:

  1. Quarterback
  2. Cornerback
  3. Offensive Guard
  4. Wide Receiver (if Percy Harvin is not kept, I would move this above OG)
  5. Outside Linebacker
  6. Offensive Tackle
  7. Safety
  8. Inside Linebacker
  9. Tight End
  10. Defensive Tackle
  11. Running Back
  12. Center
  13. Defensive End
As you can imagine, I would rank 1-11 extremely close in terms of need. In essence, the team needs help at almost every position, and it's probably quibbling to even rank the positions between 3-11. However, what do you think? What are the team's biggest needs?
