New York Jets Work Out 5 Prospects

The Jets continue to look for under the radar prospects.

Rich Cimini confirmed that the Jets have worked out five players this week:

The Jets have not signed any of these players as of today.

Carson was a 2014 undrafted free agent out of Penn State. Carson was with the Cardinals for over a year before being cut in late August. He appeared in 5 games for the Cardinals last year, mostly on special teams. As well as being an inside linebacker, Carson practised last year being a long snapper, in an effort to become more versatile.

Hickey was also an undrafted free agent this year who later caught on with the New Orleans Saints, however his struggles in pass protection led to him being cut. He's as strong as an ox, but his form and technique leave a lot to be desired.

Marcel Jensen is a 2014 undrafted tight end out of Fresno State who spent time with the Jaguars, Broncos and Atlanta Falcons. In his senior year at Fresno, he totaled 26 catches for 353 yards and 3 scores, although he's failed to make a mark in the NFL.

Cole Manhart was another player who spent time with New Orleans. He was a college tackle who needed to move inside to guard, although his lack of power has prevented him from making a statement in the NFL.

Finally we have Robert Nelson, an undrafted cornerback from Arizona State in 2014. He was signed by the Browns as a priority free agent before being cut and landing on the Cardinals practice squad. He led Arizona State in 2013 with 6 interceptions, showing his playmaking ability, along with 12 pass defenses. He also spent some time as a punt returner in college.
