NY Jets Week 13 Rooting Guide

Buffalo over Houston: There is a school of thought that the Jets should root for the Texans in this game. The idea is the Jets do not hold the tiebreaker over the Texans, but they do over the Colts. This means they should root for the Texans to win the AFC South. I feel like this is overthinking things. If Houston loses this week, and the Jets win, New York is a ahead of the Texans. Then the Jets just need to take care of their business the rest of the way, and nothing in the AFC South will matter. The Jets are already ahead of Buffalo and have another chance to beat them head-to-head.

Miami over Baltimore: This one is not a big deal either way. Miami's postseason hopes are on life support after last weekend's blowout in the Meadowlands. They trail the Jets by two games and lose a head-to-head tiebreaker. Baltimore is gaining a little momentum with a two game winning streak so it would be nice to see that stopped.

Tennessee over Jacksonville: Like the Dolphins, the Jaguars are two games behind the Jets and would lose a head-to-head tiebreaker, but nothing is lost with a Titans win.

Oakland over Kansas City: Somebody needs to cool the Chiefs off. The Jets would lose a head-to-head tiebreaker with the Raiders, but New York currently leads Oakland by a game so New York just needs to take care of its business.

Indianapolis over Pittsburgh: As of now, the Steelers are a Wild Card contender, while Indianapolis leads its division. The Steelers are currently more of a threat.
