Monday Night Football, week 15. In what has become the norm for Monday Night Football, tonight we have yet another dreary matchup of bottom feeders. The 4-9 Detroit Lions travel to the Big Easy to take on the 5-8 New Orleans Saints. Saints against the Lions. In what amounts to the NFL's oldest rivalry, this one reflects a tradition that goes all the way back nearly 2000 years and the heyday of the Roman Forum.
Neither team will make the playoffs. Neither team will have a winning record in 2015. Oh well, at least this game has some star power at quarterback. Future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees, approaching the end of a brilliant career, faces prolific Detroit passer Matthew Stafford. Throw in future Hall of Fame wide receiver Calvin "Megatron" Johnson for Detroit and emerging star wide receiver Brandin Cooks for New Orleans and you have a recipe for some highly entertaining aerial fireworks, if not the best overall quality football imaginable.
