Kenbrell Thompkins to See More Time

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

With Devin Smith injured, Jets offensive coordinator Chan Gailey says Kenbrell Thompkins is likely to see his playing time go up.

Thompkins has 11 catches for 88 yards this season. Those catches were heavily concentrated. He had 6 receptions for 41 yards in Week 8 against Oakland and 4 more for 45 yards against the Jaguars a week later.

Is Thompkins now ahead of Jeremy Kerley at wide receiver? It is difficult to say. Kerley missed practice on Wednesday with a calf injury, and his status for Saturday's game in Dallas seems to be up in the air. Even if Kerley was in the mix, Thompkins getting the practice reps might tip the nod in his favor, particularly with the Jets losing a practice day this week.
