NY Jets "Run Sacks"

Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

About a month ago, we took a look at Jets "run sack" totals. The idea was simple. When a player tackles the quarterback for zero or negative yardage on a pass, he gets credited with a sack. Similar plays in the run game did not get the same level of recognition. This stat showed the total number of tackles in the run game resulting in zero or negative yardage.

Leonard Williams is now tied with Damon Harrison for the team lead with 17. It is pretty impressive to have a pair of guys with 17 on the same team. JJ Watt and Ndamukong Suh are the only players in the entire NFL with more. David Harris is close behind with 15. It is no wonder the Jets have had such a shutdown run defense.

Totals for the Jets are below.

Leonard Williams 17
Damon Harrison 17
David Harris 15
Muhammad Wilkerson 13
Demario Davis 8
Sheldon Richardson 6
Quinton Coples 4
Calvin Pryor 3
Calvin Pace 3
Rontez Miles 3
Antonio Cromartie 2
Stephen Bowen 2
Buster Skrine 2
Leger Douzable 2
Trevor Reilly 1
Erin Henderson 1
Marcus Gilchrist 1
T.J. Barnes 1
