Jets Work Out Cornerback Kendall James

Just a small note to start the day

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets recently worked out former 2014 draft pick, CB Kendall James. James was a 6th round pick of the Minnesota Vikings, having played college ball at Maine. Despite being a draft pick of the Vikings, he was cut during his first summer, eventually landing on their practice squad before being cut again. He was picked up by the Chargers before being cut and signing with the Browns, where he was cut again. He's yet to feature in an NFL game.

I actually remember James from our scouting series in 2014, he was a CB who had obvious talent but was as raw as you could get. He had elite speed and due to his basketball background, he had fantastic leaping ability. At just 5'10 and around the 180lb mark, size was always going to be a concern for any team looking to draft Kendall.

There is plenty to like there, during the 2012 season where he registered 46 tackles, 12 pass break-ups and 3 interceptions. He has obvious ball-skills, but has failed to break through with three teams now. the Jets looked at him, but there are no indications a signing is close, despite there being a roster spot open as soon as the Jets place Devin Smith on IR.
