Devin Smiths rookie year has come to a devastating end with the news that he will miss the remainder of the season with an ACL tear.
It's been a rough year for the rookie out of Ohio State, suffering through several injuries before the season before battling the drops through the season.
Smith tore his ACL while covering a punt in the game against Tennessee, just two weeks after catching his first TD pass. It was unfortunate timing because he was just starting to see extended minutes on the field.
He will finish his rookie year with 9 receptions for 115 yards and a single TD. A tough year for a highly touted deep threat. He was also playing as a gunner on special teams, replacing him there may be more difficult than replacing him on offense.
Bowles: "[Smith] was grasping everything mentally and was playing faster...it's unfortunate that this happened because he came around."
