Skrine Comes Up Big, Davis Enjoys Snap Increase

The defense has been lights out recently, have we finally got the playing time down

Aside from a rare slip by Calvin Pryor which allowed Mariota to score an unusual receiving touchdown, the Jets were almost flawless on defense. Wilkerson enjoyed feating on the offensive line of the Titans to the tune of 3 sacks. The Jets mixed up blitzes and coverages to bait Mariota into poor throws. The defensive line was disciplined enough to stay in their lanes keeping Mariota firmly placed in the pocket. Cromartie and Revis were largely untroubled on the outside and I thought the work Skrine did on Delanie Walker was outstanding.

Davis saw his time increase this week and he rewarded the Jets with a big sack on 4th down, largely caused by the excellent Pryor blitzing up the middle. Mauldin played on over 60% of the snaps, which is good to see, even if he had a largely quiet game.
