Monday Night Football, week 9. In a year of multiple mediocre prime time matchups, this one stands out for its unmitigated garbage quality. The 2-5 Chicago Bears travel west to take on the 2-6 San Diego Chargers. Neither team has much of a chance for a playoff berth this year. About the only thing this matchup has going for it is the play of San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers, which will be hurt by the loss of his favorite receiver, Keenan Allen. This game is perhaps the worst in a series of prime time duds that has to have the NFL wishing the season had played out differently this year. If you're into NFL football no matter how meaningless the games, this one is for you.
