The Jets have signed safety Rontez Miles from the practice squad onto the active roster. To clear room, the team waived guard Jarvis Harrison.

Something eventually had to give here. There was no reason for the Jets to carry eleven offensive linemen.
Todd Bowles indicated Miles was one of the players the team was looking at this week to deal with Calvin Pryor's injury. Marcus Williams got a lot of snaps last week in place of Pryor, but the result were not very good.
Miles was waived after a strong preseason. He is already 26 and has spent most of his career on the practice squad so this might be his one chance to show he belongs in the NFL.
Harrison was a rookie fifth round pick. The Jets might try to bring him back to take Miles' place on the practice squad. Then again, the fact the Jets do not view him as one of their top ten offensive linemen might mean they do not think much of his future potential.
