Ryan Fitzpatrick threw four touchdown passes in today's 38-20 victory over the Dolphins. Here is an interesting fact.
Ryan Fitzpatrick: 1st Jets QB with 4 TD passes in a game since Mark Sanchez in 2011 against Bills— ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) November 29, 2015
I checked the Pro Football Reference Play Index. Since Sanchez had that 4 touchdown game, an NFL quarterback threw for at least four touchdowns in a single game 114 times. In that span, Sanchez, Greg McElroy, Geno Smith, Michael Vick, and Fitzpatrick have started games for the Jets.
Believe it or not, Fitzpatrick had three such games in this time with three different teams. He had a four touchdown game for the Bills against the Patriots in 2012. He had another four touchdown game in 2013 for the Titans against the Cardinals. Then last year he threw for six touchdowns as a member of the Texans against the Titans.
