New York Jets Cut Quinton Coples

New, comments
Steven Ryan-USA TODAY Sports

I can't decide if this is a surprise or not. The New York Jets have cut Quinton Coples. His playing time has dropped precipitously, only playing five snaps yesterday. It seems that he's been replaced by Lorenzo Mauldin, and I guess he really just wasn't a fit for the team. So it's a surprise in the sense of them actually dropping the former first round pick, but also not considering his lack of playing time. This will save them considerable money on his fifth-year option, which the team previously picked up. We'll have more information as it comes in, but let us know what you think.
