Ryan Fitzpatrick had surgery on his hand Friday. He was out of practice on Monday. Today was viewed as a big day. The Jets said he was on track to start Sunday against the Texans. Today the quarterback said he will be ready to go.

Fitzpatrick did not take reps today, which was apparently part of the plan.
Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a bit today, but he did not practice. Todd Bowles said the plan all along was to have Fitz do more THURS.

Geno Smith took all the reps today with Fitz not participating. Antonio Cromartie (quad) was limited today.

Sometimes it is important to watch what a team does in addition to what it says. How confident are the Jets that Fitzpatrick is properly healed? One clue will be when we look at inactives on Sunday. Will the Jets go with three active quarterbacks and dress Bryce Petty? That might be a sign they are unsure and want extra insurance. If Petty sits, they probably feel really good about Fitzpatrick's health.
