Jets vs. Bills: Talking Points the Announcers Will Beat Into the Ground Tonight

I have been writing this post for five years to poke fun at the cliched storylines announcers always bring up during games. I have never seen a game with this many. This one is going to live in cliched talking point lore, like the Ice Bowl of cliched storylines.

You know, Rex Ryan was head coach of the Jets from 2009 through 2014.

You know, Bills linebacker IK Enemkpali was a member of the Jets until he punched Geno Smith in the preseason. He was cut and picked up by Buffalo. Because of that punch, Ryan Fitzpatrick is now the starting quarterback for the Jets.

You know, Fitzpatrick used to be the quarterback on the Bills from 2010 through 2012.

You know, his head coach in Buffalo was Chan Gailey, who is now offensive coordinator for the Jets.

You heard that right. Gailey and Fitzpatrick were on the Bills and went head to head against Ryan when he was on the Jets. These guys know a thing or two about facing each other in AFC East games!

You know, Bills assistants Dennis Thurman, Bobby April III, Karl Dunbar, Sanjay Lal, David Lee, Anthony Lynn, Tim McDonald, Jeff Weeks, Eric Smith, and Anthony Sparano all worked for the Jets last year.

You know, Bills linebackers coach (and former Jets assistant) Bobby April III is the son of Jets special teams coach (and former Bills assistant) Bobby April. This family knows a thing or two about these two franchises.

You know, Bills secondary coach Donnie Henderson was defensive coordinator for the Jets in 2004 and 2005.

You know, the Bills put Percy Harvin on injured reserve. He was on the Jets last year.

You know, Bills backup quarterback Josh Johnson spent time in preseason with the Jets.
