Both active Jets quarterbacks suffered injuries in today's loss to Oakland.
Bowles: Fitzpatrick suffered torn ligaments in thumb. MRI tomorrow. Smith injured left shoulder and abdomen. Further evaluation needed.

Fitzpatrick: Knew something wasn't right, couldn't grip the ball. Todd Bowles said he will get an MRI tomorrow. Unchartered territory.

This might end up being more damaging to the Jets' hopes than today's loss. Fitzpatrick and Smith are not exactly the greatest quarterback duo in the world, but they surely are a big step up over Bryce Petty and any quarterback the team could sign off the street. Hopefully one will be ready for next week.
If the Jets need to sign a quarterback, Matt Flynn is available. Flynn spent some time with the team in camp after Geno Smith's broken jaw. Josh Johnson, who was also with the Jets, is not. He is with the Bills now.
