Jets vs. Redskins Final Score: New York Wins 34-20

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

It took the 2014 New York Jets 16 games to get 4 wins. It took the 2015 New York Jets 5 games to get 4 wins. Gang Green matched its win total last season with today's victory over Washington at the Meadowlands. The Jets now stand at 4-1 heading into a showdown against the Patriots next week that is much bigger than most people would have guessed at the start of the season.

This win came from a dominant second half performance. The Jets trailed 13-10 at halftime but blew Washington out in the second half 24-7. In games like this, there is a tendency to say the coaching staff made great adjustments. I'm not saying Todd Bowles and company did nothing, but sometimes the difference is the players just playing better. The Jets sleepwalked through much of the first half, committing 3 turnovers. All 3 led to Washington score. In fact, all 13 first half points Washington scored were off turnovers. The second half was much cleaner.

The Jets also dropped the penalty bug that had been a problem in London against the Dolphins, although the officials were calling the game a bit loose.
