New York Jets GM and Coaching Search Discussion Thread 1/9

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

We near the end of the second business week of the New York Jets' searches for a general manager and a head coach.

Yesterday Chicago hired Ryan Pace from the Saints organization as the new GM of the Bears.

The Jets have also invited Texans director of college scouting Mike Maccagnan back for a second interview for the open general manager job. Maccagnan has deep ties to Charley Casserly, one of the consultants helping Woody Johnson with the search, going back to Casserly's days in Washington. This has led to much speculation that the job is Maccagnan's to lose. We will see. Sometimes this doesn't pan out. Remember a little over a week ago how the Jets were going to hire Doug Marrone quickly, or how Chris Ballard was getting the Bears GM job?

The majestic GGN Twitter widget returns below to provide updates during the day on the searches.
