There are multiple reports that Mike Tannenbaum will take over the football operations for the Miami Dolphins. It sounds like Dennis Hickey, the GM, and Joe Philbin, the HC, will report to Tannenbaum.
Obviously, this is huge for a number of reasons. Most pressing to the New York Jets is that Tannenbaum is Dan Quinn's agent. I find it hard to believe the NFL would allow Tannenbaum to negotiate Quinn's contract if he's working for one of their biggest rivals, but we'll see.
The Dolphins are on the brink of making the playoffs, so I firmly expect Tannenbaum to make several big moves to bring them into contention, then promptly crash the team into the ground and ruin them for the next several years.
