Jets GM and Coaching Search Discussion Thread 1/6

New, comments
Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Tuesday! We are in the second week of the search for a new general manager and a new head coach for the New York Jets.

Yesterday we found out the Jets' requests to interview New Orleans' Ryan Pace and Kansas City's Chris Ballard were turned down. Pace's role with the Saints is growing, and Ballard seems to be focusing on the Bears job as he has deep ties with that franchise.

There was also plenty of buzz on the coaching front. Rumors came out that Doug Marrone is no longer a hot candidate. These came days after rumors that made the Jets hiring Marrone sound inevitable. Once again, we see how valuable rumors are at this time of year.

We will use this thread for discussion of the two searches taking below. Below is the fabled Twitter widget with beat writers providing updates throughout the day for your enjoyment.
