According to ProFootballTalk, head coaching candidate Dan Quinn had hoped to be paired with general manager candidate George Paton. Paton, of course, declined to be interviewed by the two teams looking for a GM in the New York Jets and the Chicago Bears. The two overlapped with the Miami Dolphins in 2005-2006 with Quinn as the defensive line coach and Paton as the director of pro personnel.
Of course, this does not eliminate Quinn as a potential candidate. Paton may have been his first choice, but it doesn't mean it's his only choice. We'll keep you updated.
