The coaching staff is all but complete and GM Mike Maccagnan is busy organizing his front office too.

There has been a rumour regarding Rex Hogan joining the Jets for over a week now, and the team made it official today naming him the senior director of college scouting.

Rex has spent the last 12 years with the Chicago Bears organization first as a college scout and then as a national scout for the last three years.

As a national scout Rex was in charge of the west region of the USA, so he'll be very familiar with the players from the Pacific-12 Conference, first round options like Strong, Mariota, Andrus Peat etc

He has worked as a director of football operations under Urban Meyer and worked in recruiting for Notre Dame, so Rex has been evaluating talent whether that be high school or college players for over 15 years.

Our scouting department was desperate for a fresh start and Rex provides that. We likely won't know how effective he's been in his role until several years down the line.

Welcome to the franchise Rex.
