Report: Jets To Hire Steve Marshall For OL Position

According to Adam Caplan, the Jets are getting closer to adding someone to the staff.

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

We fully expect the coaching staff to come together over the next week or so, giving the team enough time to evaluate the roster before free agency. According to Adam Caplan, we may be hiring Steve Marshall away from the Green Bay Packers:

Before being hired to his current offensive line position with the Green Bay Packers (assistant offensive line coach), Marshall spent several years in the college ranks with New Mexico State, Colorado and California. He has got considerably NFL experience having coached with the Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns between 2002 and 2010.

In 2014 Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy rushed for over 1,000 yards at an average of 4.6 yards a carry. The Packers offensive line game up 30 sacks on the season, which was above average and considerably better than the Jets who allowed 47 sacks on the year. Steve Marshall has a lot of experience and a positive resumé. Our offensive line needs a lot of help, so for me, this would be a very strong hire.
