Status Update: General Managers & Head Coaches

New, comments

If you're anything like me, the last 7 days have been a little bit of a blur, induced by copious amounts of food and the odd tipple here or there. However I've had a sift through all the information and to just update the article John provided a few days ago on the status of our search.

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

How close are we to naming our new head coach and general manager? If you believe the media, it could come as early as Wednesday or Thursday next week. I had to catch-up myself, so I thought it would be wise to share this with everyone else. John wrote a great article a couple of days ago just summarizing the search so far, and I'm just adding to that here with some status updates.

My preference would be to have Trent Kirchner as the new GM, a strong scouting background in a winning franchise. However anyone with any scouting background would be preferable to what we've had.

Trent Kirchner Director of Pro Personnel Seattle Seahawks Interviewed

George Paton Assistant General Manager Minnesota Vikings Declined Interview
Rod Graves Senior Director of Football Administration New York Jets Interviewed

Now the Head Coach Candidates

With the likes of Todd Bowles and Gary Kubiak being involved in the Wild-Card games this week, if the other candidates don't blow us out the water, the head coaching search could drag on a little longer.
