C.J Spiller Interested In Chan Gailey Reunion

The dynamic Buffalo running back is keeping his options open, but likes the sound of the Jets.

Buffalo Bills RB C.J Spiller is a dynamic player who's been a little handcuffed the last two years under Doug Marrone. However, he would be very interested in teaming up with his former head coach and soon to be New York Jets offensive coordinator Chan Gailey. Spiller had the best year of his career with Gailey in 2012, rushing for 1,244 yards and 6 touchdowns while receiving 43 passes for 459 yards and 2 scores.

When asked about the possibility of hooking up with Gailey in New York when he becomes a free agent, C.J liked the sound of the idea:

"There is that familiarity between me and him in that offense," Spiller told the Daily News on Thursday. "So that would be a perfect match. Who knows what can happen, but I'd be foolish not to have those guys on my list. I had my best years in the league with Chan. So it'd be dumb not to give it serious thought."

The Jets will likely cut Chris Johnson after the former Tennessee Titan failed to resurrect his career last year under Rex Ryan and Marty Mornhinweg, and the Jets will be in the market for a dynamic runner who can also receive out of the backfield.

C.J did miss a significant proportion of the season with a broken collarbone, but with the injury fully healed, I imagine a few teams will be calling him when free agency kicks off.

"I have thick skin," Spiller said. "I don't get sensitive to what's said. I know what type of player I am. I know I can make plays in this league. It's proven. It's on tape."

"I'm not going to let a big market or big city scare me away," he added. "I grew up in a small town (Lake Butler, Fla.), but I can adapt very well to new environments."
