Jets GM and Coaching Search Discussion Thread 1/13

Brad Barr-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday was a busy day for the Jets in their coaching search. Sean McDermott is now a candidate. Todd Bowles is getting a second interview. John Fox is now available in a bit of a surprise, although there were some rumblings about his job status in Denver over the past week. He may or may not have turned down a chance to interview with the Jets for their head coaching job.

On the general manager front, things were quieter. Mike Maccagnan is reportedly close to being hired, but no word came Monday of any deal being finalized to officially bring him aboard. One cannot help but wonder how much influence Maccagnan had in those coaching interviews being scheduled.

Here's a thread for discussion about the two searches. Will today be the day the Jets get a new general manager? We will find out. Follow the great Twitter widget below for updates.
