EDIT: Schefter is apparently taking half a step back from his earlier report.
In response to my earlier tweet about Jets' contact with John Fox, Jets officials said no interview request was made.

The Broncos parted ways with head coach John Fox today. Adam Schefter reports the Jets reached out to Fox for an interview but were turned down.
John Fox declined HC interview with Jets, per NFL source. Hard to imagine turning down one HC chance unless there's real chance for another.

That's too bad for the Jets. Fox was a quality candidate, better than other retread candidates such as Gary Kubiak, Doug Marrone, and Tom Cable.
I don't want to make Fox out to be the greatest coach in the world, but he has taken two teams to the Super Bowl. He also has won without good quarterbacks posting a 60-41 record in games started by either Jake Delhomme or Tim Tebow with 6 additional Playoff wins with those two. He adapted his systems to fit the strengths of Tebow, Von Miller, and Peyton Manning. He hired quality coordinators. Three former Fox coordinators were highly thought of enough to get head coaching jobs, and a fourth, Adam Gaze, has a good chance of landing one. A lot of really good players have developed under Fox too.
Fox would have been a nice get, but there still are good candidates out there.
